About Radio Wholesale - Our Story

Radio Wholesale began in Columbus, Georgia in 1973 with a simple purpose: keep people connected when it matters most. What started as a small, service‑first radio shop has grown into a multi‑generation company trusted by organizations whose work can’t afford communication failures — schools, factories, public safety agencies, security teams, and businesses across the United States.

Over the decades, tools and technologies have evolved, but one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to doing the job the right way. Many of the people who built this company into what it is today are still here. Our employees bring more than 100 years of combined experience, carrying forward the knowledge, craftsmanship, and customer-first mindset that shaped Radio Wholesale from the beginning.

As the business transitioned into its third generation of ownership, we stayed true to our roots while expanding our capabilities. We’ve earned industry recognition along the way — including seven Motorola Pinnacle Club awards and the honor of being named the #1 Motorola dealer in the United States in 1992. Our long-standing partnerships with Kenwood and Icom, dating back to the 1980s, reflect the trust we’ve built with the brands we represent and the customers we serve.

Today, Radio Wholesale stands as a bridge between legacy and innovation. We support organizations that rely on dependable communication infrastructure to protect people, coordinate teams, and keep operations running smoothly. Whether you’re upgrading a system, outfitting a new facility, or maintaining mission‑critical equipment, our team brings decades of continuity and a deep understanding of what reliable communication really means in the field.
